Location Description

The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Massage Therapist Trainer to lead the development and education of our massage therapy team. This role is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality training programs, mentoring therapists, and ensuring consistency in treatment standards, techniques, and guest experience across all massage services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs for new and existing massage therapists

  • Conduct hands-on training in massage techniques, customer service, sanitation standards, and safety procedures

  • Ensure consistency in treatment protocols and guest service excellence

  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations for therapists

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, techniques, and certifications to keep the team current

  • Collaborate with spa management to identify training needs and areas for improvement

  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new massage therapists

  • Lead workshops, continuing education sessions, and in-service trainings

  • Maintain accurate training records and certification compliance



Qualifications

  • Valid state license/certification as a Massage Therapist (required)

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on massage therapy experience

  • Prior experience in training, mentoring, or education in a spa or school setting

  • Expertise in a variety of massage modalities (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, hot stone, etc.)

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and training techniques

  • CPR/First Aid certification (required or willingness to obtain)



Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is $45.00/Hr. - $55.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
