Description
The Medical Director for the Snow College Respiratory Therapy Program will be responsible for overseeing the medical aspects of the program's curriculum, ensuring it meets current standards in respiratory care and healthcare practice. This role will collaborate closely with faculty and clinical partners to enhance the quality of instruction and clinical practice within the program.
Qualifications
Licensed physician in Utah.
Board-certified in a relevant specialty recognized by ABMS or AOA.
Experienced in managing respiratory diseases and respiratory care practices.
Staff privileges at a primary clinical affiliate.
Ability to engage with students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
Major Responsibilities/Duties
Ensure the curriculum aligns with current respiratory care standards.
Contribute to curriculum development and updates based on best practices.
Assist in evaluating didactic and clinical components for continuous improvement and accreditation.
Serve as a liaison between the program and medical professionals, advocating for clinical support.
Collaborate with faculty and clinical instructors to ensure quality educational experiences.
Provide didactic instruction through lectures, case studies, and medical insights.
Participate in clinical instruction, guiding students during rounds, office visits, and special procedures.
Be available to staff for clinical and curriculum-related issues.
Attend program advisory board meetings to provide input on program direction and student preparedness.
