Job Description and Duties

ASSOCIATE PARK & RECREATION SPECIALIST- CHANNEL COAST DISTRICT / SAN BUENAVENTURA STATE BEACH

This position works under the direction of the Sr. Park & Recreation Specialist. The reporting location is the Channel Coast District Office, located at San Buenaventura State Beach, Ventura, CA.

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of the District's Planning program by facilitating the District's real property management, rights of entry, project evaluations and monitoring for regulatory compliance. This position will be required to solve complex problems, provide project management, mentor staff, and communicate technical information internally, to other agencies and the public. This position requires a professional working manner and ability to deal tactfully and effectively in any environment. Ability to work independently without close supervision as well as in a team environment to complete duties in a cohesive and collaborative manner. Use sound judgement and discretion and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. The planning program provides leadership and guidance to staff, agencies, stakeholders and the public related to the use and protection of State Park lands

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as not telework eligible.
