This contract position spans the 2025-2026 school year, focusing on addressing the diverse communication needs of students from elementary through high school. Location: Lewes, DE Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and deliver therapy for students with speech sound disorders, including articulation and fluency issues. Assess and treat language disorders that impact both receptive and expressive communication, covering various linguistic components. Support students with social communication disorders, facilitating their understanding and use of verbal and nonverbal communication for social interaction. Provide services for cognitive-communication disorders, aiding students with skills such as memory, attention, and problem-solving. Assess and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia), ensuring safe and effective feeding practices in the school setting. Deliver aural rehabilitation services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, enhancing their auditory processing and communication strategies. Implement and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for students with significant language impairments. Collaborate with educators, families, and specialists to integrate communication goals into the classroom. Qualifications: Current Delaware Professional License and certification from the Department of Education. Experience with AAC and swallowing disorders is preferred. Previous experience in school settings is a plus, though not required. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
