Job Description
EMIT Learning is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in schools, your role will be to provide screening, assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services to children with speech and language disorders. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students' communication skills and academic success. Your work will be instrumental in helping students overcome communication barriers and reach their full potential.

Age Group: Elementary, Middle, and High School
Total Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
Duration of Contract: School Year 2024-2025 as well as for the coming SY_2025-26
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive screenings and evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students
Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and in consultation with teachers, parents, and other professionals
Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language difficulties, using evidence-based techniques and interventions
Monitor and document students' progress regularly, and make adjustments to treatment plans as needed
Collaborate with teachers to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom curriculum and activities
Educate and train teachers, parents, and other school staff on strategies to support students' communication skills in the classroom
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and support students with other special needs or learning disabilities
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input on students' communication goals and progress
Stay updated on the latest research and development in the field of speech and language pathology, and apply that knowledge to practice
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
Valid license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting
Knowledge of assessment tools and techniques for speech and language disorders
Familiarity with interventions and strategies for addressing various speech and language difficulties
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload of students
Strong documentation and report writing abilities
