Location: Gateway Post Acute - Porterville, CA
Starting Wage: $42/hour
Schedule: PRN (As Needed)

Gateway Post Acute, located in beautiful Porterville, CA near the Sierra Nevada foothills, is a leading skilled nursing facility known for its quality care, clean environment, and supportive team. We are currently hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehab department on a PRN basis.
About the Role:
The COTA works under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative care to residents. This role supports patients in regaining independence with activities of daily living, using proven therapy techniques and personalized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist
Deliver direct patient care through therapeutic activities and interventions
Monitor, document, and report patient progress and responses to treatment
Educate patients and families on appropriate home care programs
Ensure patient safety, rights, and confidentiality at all times
Collaborate with therapy, nursing, and support staff to promote positive outcomes
Maintain professional working relationships and adhere to all policies and procedures
Qualifications:
Current certification and California licensure as a COTA (in good standing)
CPR certification (or obtained during orientation)
1 year of experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute care setting preferred
Proficient in therapy documentation software and basic computer skills
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Knowledge of regulatory standards and therapeutic best practices
