JOB REQUIREMENTS: Horicon School District is seeking passionateeducators for 2 full-time, K-12 Speech and Language Pathologists for the2025-26 school year. The Speech and Language Pathologist musthave: - Understanding of various speech and language disorders,assessments, and intervention strategies - A thorough understanding ofthe evaluation and IEP process - Strong verbal and written communicationskills are necessary for effectively collaborating with students,parents, teachers, and other professionals - Ability to workcollaboratively with all staff and families - Proficiency inadministering and interpreting assessments to diagnose speech andlanguage disorders accurately, including knowledge of standardizedtests, informal assessments, and progress monitoring tools - Familiaritywith speech therapy software, assistive technology, and communicationdevices - Ability to develop, prepare, and implement appropriateservices based on student needs - Desire to work in a student-centered,team-based positive environment - Attention to detail and timeliness -Ability to collect, use, and monitor student data - A commitment tocontinuous improvement through professional development As a progressivepublic school district built on a culture of continuous improvement, ourstaff is asked to continuously reflect on the needs of their studentsand are empowered to make adjustments to help every student be at orabove grade level. Develop or implement treatment plans forproblems such as stuttering, delayed language, swallowing disorders, orinappropriate pitch or harsh voice problems, based on own assessmentsand recommendations of physicians, psychologists, or social workers.Educate patients and family members about various topics, such ascommunication techniques or strategies to cope with or to avoid personalmisunderstandings. Supervise or collaborate with therapy team.Participate in and write reports for meetings regarding patients\'progress, such as individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings,in-service meetings, or intervention assistance team meetings. Teachclients to control or strengthen tongue, jaw, face muscles, or breathingmechanisms. Instruct clients in techniques for more effectivecommunication, such as sign language, lip reading, or voice improvement.Consult with and advise educators or medical staff on speech or hearingtopics, such as communication strategies or speech and languagestimulation. Develop speech exercise programs to reduce disabilities.Complete administrative responsibilities, such as coordinatingpaperwork, scheduling case management activities, or writing lessonplans. Consult with and refer clients to additional medical oreducational services. Design, develop, or employ alternative diagnosticor communication devices or strategies. Participate in conferences,training, continuing education courses, or publish research results toshare knowledge of new hearing or speech disorder treatment methods ortechnologies. Use computer applications to identify or assist withcommunication disabilities. Develop individual or group activities orprograms in schools to deal with behavior, speech, language, orswallowing problems. Conduct lessons or direct educational ortherapeutic games to assist teachers dealing with speech problems.Provide communication instruction to dialect speakers or students withlimited English proficiency. Supervise students or assistants.Communicate with non-speaking students, using sign language or computertechnology. Evaluate oral motor function in infants.
