Required Education & Credentials:

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (minimum)
• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
• Illinois State License
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP-MHC (Neonatal Resuscitation Program - Memorial Hospital of Carbondale)

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides physician-ordered respiratory care while maintaining close communication with nursing and medical teams.
• Evaluates patient outcomes and adjusts care plans in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
• Educates patients and caregivers about respiratory conditions and treatments, ensuring full understanding of discharge instructions.
• Assumes assignments in other hospital units when needed.
• Acts as a clinical role model, sharing knowledge and mentoring staff and students.
• Develops, delivers, and evaluates the effectiveness of respiratory therapy interventions.
