Responsibilities

The Echo Tech II performs echocardiogram procedures. Follows physician written orders in providing these services. The Echo Tech II assists in developing policies and procedures regarding the clinical application of Cardiovascular services following accepted clinical practices. Follows physician orders in providing these services.

  • Performs diagnostic Cardiovascular procedures based upon the physician's written request under the direction of the Medical Director of the Department.
  • Performs EEG and Pulmonary Function diagnostic procedures competently and professionally.
  • Provides Cardiovascular/EEG/PFT diagnostic services to the elderly, with sensitivity to their physical and emotional condition. Is sensitive to the emotional status of the patient's family or friends.
  • Performs clerical and other duties as necessary, efficiently and effectively. Maintains records/ reports of procedures performed in the department. Carries out assigned projects in a timely manner. Effectively utilizes computer information system.
  • Maintains assigned area and equipment. Is competent in the operation of all equipment used in the Department.

Promptly initiates corrective action when encountering equipment problems.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
  • Minimum of two (2) years acute care Echo Tech experience
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate we accept American Heart Association

Preferred:

  • Experience in Stress testing
  • Experience in Holter monitoring
  • Experience in records management for procedures and patient files
