Responsibilities
  • Provide direct physical therapy according to directions of physical therapist and in accordance with the physicians plan of care
  • Direct and aid patient in active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait and functional training, transfer activities and prosthetic training
  • Utilize physical agents, including heat, cold, water, light, electricity, ultrasound and massage
  • Instruct in use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices
  • Observe and report to the physical therapist the patients reaction to treatment and any changes in condition
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal legal and regulatory requirements
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the CAPTE with current licensure to practice in state of operation
  • 1+ year PTA experience
  • Home health experience preferred
  • Commitment to clinical and documentation excellence
