Job Objective/Summary: The Respiratory Therapist carries out treatment of patients in accordance with physician's orders, instructions of director and observes all rules relative to care and treatment of patient and hospital equipment. The economical use of supplies, utilities, and the cleanliness of department is also required. The Respiratory Therapist observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information. Must follow and enforce safety practices for patients. Must report safety hazards. Good Communication skills necessary.
Job Educations, Licenses/Certifications, Knowledge & Experience: High School graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an AMA approved school and eligible to take the certification test offered by the National Board of Respiratory Care. Knowledge of all Respiratory therapy and procedures. State licensure is required before employment begins.
