Position Type: Summer Learning Academy/Special Education Teachers Date Posted: 5/27/2025 Location: Townwide Date Available: 06/27/2025 Closing Date: Until filled EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR 2025 CERTIFIED VACANCIES - EXTERNAL POSTING Summer ESY Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Position Type: Seasonal - Summer Program Location: Farmington Public Schools Reports To: Special Services Director & Supervisor of Special Services Duration: June 30th, 2025- August 7th, 2025 Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:15AM - 1:15 PM Pay: $52/hour The Farmington Public Schools is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for its Extended School Year (ESY) programs. The Farmington Public Schools Extended School Year (ESY) programs are designed to provide eligible students with disabilities reinforcement of skills acquired during the regular school year. Eligibility for participation in ESY is determined on an individual basis through the PPT process and is based on various factors, including the specific needs of the student and whether there is a strong possibility a student will lose skills, or have difficulty recouping skills, after an extended period of time without summer instruction. The SLP will provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with communication needs as outlined in their IEPs or as referred by program staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed SLP who is passionate about supporting student progress and maintaining continuity of services during the summer. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and/or small group speech-language therapy sessions. Implement and monitor IEP goals related to speech and language development. Assess, document, and report student progress toward IEP goals. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students' communication needs. Develop or adapt therapy materials appropriate for summer learning. Maintain accurate records and comply with district, state, and federal regulations. Participate in IEP meetings, as needed. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Qualifications: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders. CT Certification (061) Valid state SLP license and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP preferred). School-based experience preferred. Experience working with children with a range of communication needs. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
