Speech-Language Therapist / Pathologist

POSITION: Speech and Language Pathologist
POSITION TERM: 10 Months
REPORTS TO: Assistant Director of Special Education
Date: October 2020

Position Summary:
The Agora Cyber Charter School Speech and Language Pathologist is a highly qualified and Pennsylvania state-certified pathologist responsible for delivering direct speech and language therapy to students in an online environment as described in the IEP. The Speech and Language Pathologist will plan differentiated student learning opportunities, provide direct one on one and/or group therapy, support, and guidance, and focus on students' individual needs based upon close analysis of student performance data. The Speech and Language Pathologist will monitor student progress and work actively with students and parents to advance each child's progress and learning. Pathologists work closely with school level leadership, general and special education teachers and department members, grade level or content area teachers, other related service providers, and report directly to Director and/or Assistant Director of Special Education.

Required Education and Experience:

• Masters Degree
• Child Abuse Clearance
• Criminal History Clearance
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance
• Meets Pennsylvanias requirements of being state-certified/licensed to provide Speech/Language Therapy
• Have experience working with the proposed age groups and content area

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 3+ years teaching experience
• Experience in online teaching
• Experience using search engines such as Google Chrome
• Experience with Blackboard Collaborate, Google Sites, Open Educational Resources and LMSs
• Experience coordinating academically-oriented clubs and extracurricular activities
• Prior experience making academic progress with a range of student populations and needs

Work Environment
This job operates in a virtual environment. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones and printers.
