Willow Springs School is searching for a highly qualified, Speech and Language Pathologist to work with elementary/junior high students. This individual will collaborate with members of the district's special education department, grade level teachers, and other members of our school community. Qualifications: REQUIRED Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech/Language Endorsement Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology Comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and skill in speech and language Excellent communication skills PREFERRED ESL and/or Bilingual endorsement Previous experience Responsibilities Implement the district's curriculum and instructional practices that align with the Board of Education standards Engage in continuous professional development Follow the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education and the Illinois School Code Actively participate in the district's mission and strategic plan Create an effective and engaging learning environment for all students Communicate regularly and work cooperatively with parents Maintain an effective learning environment that promotes standards and behavior appropriate to the students' grade level Regularly evaluate students' academic and social growth, and keep appropriate records to report progress Participate in curriculum development opportunities, staff committees, and sponsorship of student activities Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing Demonstrate lnowledge of acoustics, communication theory, and psychology of speech and language Demonstrate Clinical competence in the evaluation and management of speech and language impairments Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the building principal and or Director of Special Education/Specual Education Administrator How to Apply: Online applications accepted.
