Arkansas Lighthouse Charter Schools (ALCS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team of educators committed to transforming the lives of scholars through high-quality instruction and individualized support. As a vital member of our student services team, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to assess, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for scholars with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. A school speech-language pathologist (SLP) will provide evaluations, diagnoses, and intervention for students with speech, language, and swallowing disorders, ensuring they have a free and appropriate public education . This candidate will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and provide therapy services to support scholars' communication development. Key Responsibilities: Assessment and Evaluation: Conducting speech and language evaluations to identify scholars with communication disorders, including speech sound disorders, language disorders, and swallowing difficulties. Intervention and Therapy: Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, providing direct therapy services to scholars both individually and in small groups, and adapting therapy methods as needed. Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop IEPs, provide consultation, and support scholars' communication needs in the classroom and other school environments. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of scholar progress, attending IEP meetings, and providing insights on scholar progress and needed adaptations. Advocacy and Support: Educating scholars and parents about speech-language development and strategies to support communication, advocating for scholars' needs within the school setting, and referring scholars to appropriate agencies or services when needed. Additional Duties: Administering standardized tests to diagnose speech and language disorders. Staying current with research and best practices in the field. Participating in professional development activities. Assisting in the development of school-wide speech and communication initiatives. Providing consultation and support to other educators and staff. Participating in school-wide initiatives, such as Response to Intervention (RTI). Ensuring that all activities conform to district and cooperative guidelines.
