The Positive Regard Network (PRN), with locations in Chicopee and Holyoke, MA and Northern Connecticut, invites applicants for the full time position of Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). This position requires a Masters Degree in Communication Disorders, ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), and a MA Department of Public Health License as a Speech and Language Pathologist. The SLP provides services to classrooms as a communication specialist by way of (1) adding to our curriculum learning that reflects the therapeutic language requirement of our students, (2) training and mentoring staff to implement the curriculum, and (3) teaching these skills in a classroom setting. The SLP may supervise SLPAs, administers speech and language assessments to students and prepares corresponding reports, as needed, and prepares updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings and attends team meetings as requested. Job Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist:Provides supervision, mentoring and training for all staff delivering communication services in the school.Collaborates with Teachers and other allied health staff to provide comprehensive and appropriate services to students.Writes IEPs in conjunction with Teachers.Develops, implements and manages speech and language curriculum and assessment materials. Prepares daily lessons.Develops augmentative communication programs.Supervises all clinical services including assignment of individual caseloads, group schedules and selection of group services. Assures that services provided to students are provided as outlined in Individual Education Plans and treatment plans.Administers speech and language assessments to students and prepares corresponding reports, as needed.Prepares updates and reports for presentation at district team meetings and attends team meetings as requested. Plans and provides training for school staff as needed or requested.Adheres to professional license standards while upholding the school model of treatment.Maintains professional licensure and ASHA certification and participates in conferences, workshops or other courses for professional development.Full time, salaried/exempt position, 12 months per year.
