JOBTITLE: CLINICIAN IIIGENERAL STATEMENT OF JOBUnder limited direction, employee provides direct supervision to licences eligible employees that are working toward becoming licensed. Work involves providing direct therapeutic services, case management services, and crisis intervention to mental health, intellectual disability, and substance abuse clients. Therapeutic services involve conducting individual, martial, group, and family therapy sessions. Case management services include client identification, assessments, consultative services regarding community resources, as well as liaison activities with local hospital emergency rooms. Emergency services interventions include triage of client needs, crisis intervention, community liaison, and discharge planning. Employee consults regularly with other staff members and supervisors; consulation with es staff and discharge planning. participates in scheduled meetings, seminars, and in-service training sessions. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, clients, families, public, and service providers. Reports to the Out patient Coordinator.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSProvides d^i^rect supervision to clinical staff; assigns cases to subordinate employees; reviews case records for accuracy; performs quarterly evaluations; and consults on non-routine cases.same as aboveDelivers direct service to mental health, intellectual disability, and substance abuse clients through individual, marital, family, and group therapy.Serves on agency insurance panels; completes applications to become paid provider as needed and in a timely manner; is familiar and proficient with the completion of required and routine insurance paperwork.Organizes and mobilizes community resources to meet the needs of clients; providers information regarding employment opportunities, self-help needs, living alternatives, and educational and entitlement opportunities to clients; participates in hospital discharge planning for clients returning to the area.Maintains complete, accurate, and current clinical charts and records; performs routine office filing; receives and answers general correspondence and inquiries.Works a schedule determined by client needs which may include more than one evening per week.Consults regularly with other staff members; participates as a member of the Management Team; participates in scheduled staffing and case conferences; attends in-service training sessions.Provides crisis intervention and prescreening on an on-call basis as assigned by the Emergency Services Coordinator.Provides clinical supervision for others seeking licenses as required.Offers consultative services regarding mental health and substance abuse issues to referrals and the general public.Maintains familiarity with region's Employee Assistance Programs; provides direct services and promotes to local industry.1**MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST III**Services in outreach clinic as assigned.Conducts pre-admission screening assessment of clients seeking admission to a state facility or to the rapid stabilization program.Provides direction for agency mental health clinics in the area of program ethics.Prepares reports, written evaluations, discharge summaries, and other documents to provide history, recommendations, and other information.Supervises students and volunteers as assigned by the Regional Coordinator. May serve as Acting Regional Coordinator in the latter's absence.ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONSProvides training workshops and information presentations to local agencies and groups.Participates and represents agency on committees and groups in community planning activities and programs as assigned.Assists in the development of clinical programs. Performs other related work as required.MINIMUM TRAINING ANDEXPERIENCEMaster's Degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Ps chology, or related field: licensed to provide services within the Commonwealth of Virginia with experience in counseling, program administration, and case management.Full- licensed in the commonwealthSPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust possess a valid Virginia Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Must obtain a TB test with satisfactory results within 30 days of employment, and yearly thereafter as required by licensing authority. Must pass drug screening.
