How We Serve
The Respiratory Therapist works as part of a Clinical Care Team, administering respiratory and cardiac disease education under supervision of and by prescription of physicians, to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiopulmonary and/or neuromuscular systems. This individual serves the community, involving daily travel to the patients homes. Meeting with patients in their home affords this individual the opportunity to develop deep and rich relationships.
Successful candidates for this position will understand and be comfortable with mobile technology and have a strong commitment to exceptional patient care. A typical day may include home patient clinical assessments, telephonic patient assessments, providing patient education, maintaining patient compliance to a treatment plan, connection to community resources, conducting routine diagnostics such as spirometry, and charting assessments in specified systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts detailed patient assessment, including vital signs, monitors for changes in status, reports findings, contribute to and implements care plans
Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions
Maintains a level of knowledge to retrieve chart information via necessary systems
Maintains a level of knowledge reqarding CROM setups, follow-ups, equipment and troubleshooting
Educates patients on exercise, nutrition, medication, and smoking cessation
Helps patient accomplish treatment plan goals and identifies and seeks to resolve barriers to care
Evaluates effects of treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patients progress and recommending adjustments and modifications
Communicates with physicians, nurses, social workers, family, caregivers, and other health care workers
Recommends assistive equipment and outpatient or home health follow-up programs
Documents patient care and services both accurately and expediently, per policy
Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel
May have to communicate or interact with, assess, or treat patients who may be:
o Adults (1864 years of age)
o Seniors (65 years or older)
Participates, on an ongoing basis, in traditional learning and educational programs
Always adheres to hygiene and safety standards (sanitizing surfaces, equipment, hands, etc.)
Fosters a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Associate degree with major in Respiratory Therapy
Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
Any applicant must be currently licensed in your state of residence and states of practice (must meet education requirement(s) for state licensure)
Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
Reliable and insured personal vehicle
Skills Required:
Strong and concise verbal and written communicator
Able to rapidly identify and gather required information to assess and care for patients
Comfortable working with patients that may have difficulty hearing, struggle with memory issues, or have a lower health care literacy level
Desire to collaborate with others
Ability to think quickly and provide information with confidence and clarity
Ability to manage competing priorities, organize work efficiently, and meet deadlines
Perseverance and self-management to achieve defined objectives
Confident working with EMR platform and mobile applications
Possesses facility with pulmonary equipment and devices
Strong knowledge of pulmonary disease and other chronic medical conditions are the keys to success in this role .
Physical & Other Requirements:
This job operates in a remote professional environment free from noise and distraction. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
