Lead communication intervention for high school students through innovative virtual speech therapy services! Our education company is expanding our secondary therapy program and seeking dedicated Speech Language Pathologists to serve Nevada high schools remotely.
Role Overview
Full-time remote opportunity providing 37.5 hours weekly of specialized speech-language services to grades 9-12. Your caseload of 35-50 students will include individuals with complex communication needs requiring sophisticated intervention strategies and transition planning support.
Secondary School Focus
High school students often present with multifaceted communication challenges including language-based learning disabilities, social pragmatic difficulties, fluency disorders, and voice concerns. Virtual therapy delivery allows for flexible scheduling that accommodates students' academic demands and extracurricular commitments.
Core Duties
- Perform comprehensive assessments including cognitive-communication evaluations
- Design therapy programs supporting academic success and post-secondary preparation
- Implement evidence-based interventions for complex communication disorders
- Collaborate with guidance counselors on transition planning
- Provide assistive technology evaluations and training
- Support students' development of self-advocacy skills
- Participate in IEP meetings and post-secondary planning conferences
Qualification Standards
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Valid Nevada speech-language pathology license
- Minimum 2 years secondary school experience
- Knowledge of transition services and post-secondary planning
- Virtual therapy delivery experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of assistive technology applications
Transition Planning Expertise
Support students preparing for post-secondary education, vocational training, or employment by addressing communication skills necessary for adult independence and success.
