Provide specialized speech and language support in a homebound setting for a middle school student. This role offers a flexible schedule, ideal for professionals seeking focused, impactful work within a contract duration extending through summer and into fall 2025.
Location: Brockton, MA (home-based assignment)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Speech and Language services tailored to a 14-year-old student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down Syndrome.
- Provide Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) consultation to support effective communication strategies.
- Conduct sessions totaling 2-3 hours weekly, distributed as approximately 30-minute sessions spread across 3-4 days.
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to monitor progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of sessions and student progress in compliance with district and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
- Experience working with children diagnosed with ASD and Down Syndrome is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AAC devices and communication techniques.
- Ability to work independently and adapt scheduling to meet the student's needs.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with caregivers and multidisciplinary team members.
