POSITION OVERVIEW

The First Baptist Church of Glenarden Family Life Center is a 63,000-square-foot multi-use community complex that is available to FBCG members and the Prince George's County community. Our mission is to use health and wellness as a tool to Develop "Fit and Healthy" Dynamic Disciples. The Recreation Aide (part-time) will report to the Director, Family Life Center and provide assistance in the day-to-day operation of the center. This position is non-exempt, part-time (20 hours per week).

SCHEDULE: This position works the evening shift. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 5-10 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides oversight of activity and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the facility and the use of sports/fitness equipment.
Assist with front desk functions (i.e., check-in, membership applications, answering phones).
Provides information concerning the facility and its operations.
Maintain accurate knowledge of operating processes and procedures of the Family Life Center.
Ensures adherence to regulations and safety procedures.
Works as lead with FLC volunteers.
Maintains adherence to safety protocol
Reports accidents and incidents to necessary parties when prompted

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be saved, have a servant’s heart, and be a member, in good standing or willing to become a member in good standing of FBCG.
Must be able to submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor.
Must possess a gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations.
Must have an understanding and appreciation for the ministry and the mission of FBCG.
Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent (GED). Associate degree preferred.
Previous experience in an athletic environment is desired.
Must have strong customer service skills.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more in equipment without exerting maximum effort.
Must demonstrate effective and strong communication skills.
Must possess great attention to details skills and can-do attitude.
Excellent problem-solving ability
Ability to work both within a team and individually.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to lift 40 pounds without overexertion.
Able to walk and climb steps.
