Newark Public Schools is hiring a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to work directly with K12 students in a supportive, collaborative educational environment. This full-time opportunity allows you to help students improve their participation in school routines and daily academic activities.
Position Summary:
The OT will provide therapy services that enhance fine motor development, sensory processing, and functional performance. Youll contribute to student independence by delivering personalized interventions and supporting teachers with classroom accommodations.
Key Duties:
Evaluate student motor skills and sensory needs through standardized assessments
Design and implement therapy programs that align with IEP goals
Deliver direct services and classroom-based support
Track progress and adjust interventions as needed
Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
Document sessions and participate in student planning meetings
Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
Active OT License in New Jersey
NJDOE Educational Services Certificate with OT Endorsement
Previous experience in school settings preferred
Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
Job Information:
Type: Full-time, onsite
Schedule: MondayFriday, standard school hours
