A Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to support students with speech-language disorders in an elementary school setting. This full-time, itinerant position (Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week) serves students from PreK to 5th grade and requires in-person work across multiple locations as student needs change. The role involves delivering individualized intervention services under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing speech-language programs designed by the supervising SLP to improve student outcomes.
- Collect case histories, complete observation checklists, and assist with test administration and scoring.
- Support speech-language assessments and progress monitoring.
- Communicate effectively with therapists, teachers, parents, and outside professionals.
- Attend meetings such as IEP conferences and parent meetings to provide information on student goals.
- Prepare documentation including evaluations, progress reports, and contact notes.
- Transport students to and from testing or therapy sessions as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned to support the speech-language program.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license.
- Bachelors degree in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences or Communication Disorders.
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred.
- Training or experience in language and articulation therapy desirable.
- Strong communication skills with an ability to collaborate effectively.
- Positive attitude and flexibility to learn new strategies and techniques.
Location: Visalia, CA
Duration: August 6th, 2025 June 5th, 2026 (Contract for the school year)
