Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) Bilingual English/Spanish

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Bilingual (English-Spanish) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC) to join our team for the 20252026 school year in the Northwest Chicago Metro area . This full-time school-based position serves a diverse student population and plays a critical role in supporting the communication and language development of English Language Learners (ELLs).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct bilingual (English-Spanish) speech-language screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations in compliance with IDEA and Illinois state guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals and treatment plans aligned with student needs.
  • Deliver direct and consultative services in both individual and group settings across multiple school sites.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, ELL/bilingual staff, school psychologists, administrators, and families to promote academic and communication success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team evaluations, and problem-solving teams.
  • Maintain timely and compliant documentation, progress reports, and Medicaid billing (if applicable).
  • Provide linguistic and cultural insight to support equitable assessment and intervention practices.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement in Illinois (or eligibility by start date).
  • Demonstrated fluency in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).
  • Experience working with bilingual/multilingual learners in school settings preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culturally and linguistically appropriate assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with dynamic assessment and alternative language proficiency measures.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and multilingual families.
  • Understanding of language difference vs. disorder in dual-language learners.
