Outpatient Neuro Occupational Therapist University Medical Center Rehab Therapies

The Department of Rehabilitation Therapies at University of Iowa Health Care-University Campus is seeking an Occupational Therapist to administer treatment to patients with complex physical and cognitive dysfunctions, disorders and/or injuries and evaluate and interpret findings. This position will primarily be assigned to the hospital-based outpatient clinic as well as select multidisciplinary clinics within our University Medical Center Campus.

• Provide quality patient care, evaluation, assessment, and treatment appropriate for patients needs. Assignment will involve working with patients with complex neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
• Evaluate and instruct patients in home treatment programs.
• Perform routine and assigned administrative tasks in an efficient manner.
• Participate in divisional quality/process improvement activities and recommend opportunities for improvement in service quality.
• Attend and participate in educational programs and provide educational experiences as assigned.
• Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
• Performs special projects and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelors degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy is required
• Foundational knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices in an outpatient setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Licenses/ Certifications:

• Licensure in accordance with the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy is required

Desirable Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in Occupational Therapy
• 1-3 years of experience in evaluation and rehabilitation of neurological patients including ALS, Parkinsons, Huntingtons, stroke, and other general dysfunctions.
• 1-3 years of experience in evaluation and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
• Ability to function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated leadership in a work or academic setting.
