PT - Specialist, Employability Skills and Employment Readiness

This position will develop and supervise classes for employability skills and employment readiness, including soft skills, career interest classes and basic literacy.

Required:

• Associate degree
• Valid NCDL

Preferred:

• NC bachelor's degree in business or marketing
• Experience working with adult learners
• Experience working in a business or education setting
• Plans and developments of new employability courses including lesson plans and other instructional materials
• Partners with community organizations to create relevant classes for their constituents
• Partners with Career Connect to provide employment readiness classes to current SCC students
• Partners will ESL to develop similar classes to offer to area businesses, as needed.
• Partners with the CCR Coordinator at ACI to develop new class offerings
• Works with Institutional Advancement department to market classes
• Hire, trains and supervises instructors and provides professional development as needed
• Conducts class evaluations in compliance with SCC policy
• Monitors classes to ensure faculty follow college, state and NRS guidelines
• Monitors student progress
• Closely reviews registration forms, sign-in sheets and instructor sign-in sheets for accuracy
• Prepare reports as requested
• Attend meetings, conferences and training sessions as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned
