Description

The School of Health Professions (SHP) at Stony Brook University invites applicants to apply for a faculty position in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology. This is a non-tenure track, 12-month faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. The Department of Speech-Language Pathology is delivered at the Stony Brook University Southampton campus.

The faculty will report to the Chairperson of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and will have responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. This position will require courses be taught in-person with the ability to teach online or in hybrid format. All candidates should be prepared to advise students, mentor student research projects, oversee students while on clinical rotation and assist the Chairperson with accreditation efforts, alumni engagement, recruitment and retention, external giving, outreach and other assignments which contribute to program growth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Master Degree (foreign equivakent or higher) in Speech Language Pathology or related field. Current ASHA Certification. Licensed or license eligible by N.Y.S. as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Minimum of five years of clinical experience as a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D./Ed.D./Clinical Doctorate (or foreign equivakent) in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field in progress. Previous teaching experience at the college level.
