The program director/instructor of respiratory therapy, under general supervision, will develop and implement a new program of study. This work includes assembling a committee to determine feasibility, preparing CoARC (accreditation) letters and reports, creating the curriculum, purchasing program equipment and supplies, making clinical connections, and hiring program personnel.
Upon successfully establishing the program, the incumbent will prepare lesson plans for classroom the Respiratory Therapy program. Will develop program syllabi, goals, and objectives. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Request and maintain supplies and equipment and prepare budget requests. Maintains program certification requirements as appropriate. Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports. Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences. Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area. Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues. Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. This position will report to the Vice President for Learning.
