We are looking for a Respiratory Therapist who will provide professional respiratory therapy services to children, teens, and young adults. This individual is an integral member of the multidisciplinary team that serves in our inpatient services. - Full-time: 6a-6p 3 days per week
- Every 3rd weekend
- Flexible scheduling, will consider 8 hour shifts
- Within the respiratory therapy scope of practice, physicians orders, and the childs care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care based on the fundamentals of the respiratory therapy care.
- Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by respiratory therapy standards of practice and Child Serve policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, physicians, families, school personnel, Child Serve staff, and others to assure assigned childs care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.
- Stay current with all unit and Child Serve specific information.
- Provide respiratory and related training to children, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a childs care delivery.
- Demonstrate good stewardship of Child Serve equipment, supplies, and environment.
- Certification from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current licensure to practice in the state of Iowa.
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Ventilator experience
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- PALS certification encouraged.
- Experience with tracheostomy care and changes preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
- Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
