Travel Respiratory Therapist

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist with at least one year of experience and active NBRC and state licensure for a day shift position with float requirements.

• Work in a hospital pulmonary department with assignments in general, acute, critical care, and emergency areas
• 12-hour day shifts from 06:15 to 18:15
• Every other weekend required
• Floating may be required within a 60-mile radius to other locations or float zones as determined by the employer
• Units use Epic for charting
• Deliver respiratory care procedures including patient monitoring, medication delivery, ventilation management, expansion therapy, and bronchial hygiene
• Perform diagnostic tests such as ABGs, PFTs, EKGs, bronchoscopy, and pulse oximetry
• Assist in emergency and resuscitation situations, providing airway maintenance and cardiac support
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory care procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in planning and documenting care
• Support, mentor, or train new staff and students as needed
• All travelers are limited to a maximum of one calendar year on assignment and must take a 30-60 day break before returning
• Annual flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 March 31); only medical exemptions signed by a physician are accepted
• No locals allowed within a 60-mile radius
• All required certifications must be active and American Heart Association-issued

• High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred
• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Education Program (CoARC, JRCRTE, or CAAHEP) required
• Current unrestricted RLT state license in applicable state required; license required if applicable
• Current certifications required: CRT by NBRC, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• At least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred
• Prior experience with EMR systems preferred; experience with Epic is beneficial
