A K-12 school district in Tyler, TX is seeking a knowledgeable Audiologist to support the auditory health and communication development of students. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized services essential to student success within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations and auditory screenings for students
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized audiological intervention plans
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to support student needs
- Maintain detailed records and documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
- Provide counseling and education to students and families regarding hearing health and assistive technology options
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate student care
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or certification to practice audiology
- Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting, preferably K-12
- Strong assessment and diagnostic skills specific to pediatric populations
- Knowledge of educational audiology best practices and applicable regulations (IDEA, ADA)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators and families
