Description

  • Conduct thorough evaluations across various age groups, employing both standardized assessments and observational techniques.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans aimed at achieving both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver speech therapy interventions tailored to the needs of individuals, focusing on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to establish unified care plans.
  • Provide essential education to patients and families, guiding them to continue progress beyond face-to-face sessions.
  • Engage in periodic inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure cohesive patient care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
  • Maintain precise and timely records that adhere to both state and federal regulations, along with organizational standards.
  • Commit to professional growth by remaining current with advancements in the field through continuing education and networking with colleagues.

Education

  • A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if in the process of achieving ASHA certification.

Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment.
