Description
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients utilizing standardized assessments and observational strategies.
- Create tailored treatment strategies targeting both immediate and long-term goals related to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing proficiency.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to devise cohesive care plans.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, promoting progress beyond clinical settings.
- Participate in periodic inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing seamless care along the treatment continuum.
- Maintain accurate records in alignment with organizational, state, and federal documentation standards.
- Engage in ongoing education and professional networking to remain current with field advancements.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if the ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Certifications
- Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Must achieve Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
