Child Development Resources (CDR) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech/Language Pathologist to evaluate infants and toddlers with suspected developmental delays or disabilities, and to plan and implement individualized speech-language services. The SLP provides direct services, coaches families and caregivers, and works as a collaborative team member to support the developmental needs of young children.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Planning & Assessment
Participate in screenings and transdisciplinary assessments
Assist in developing IFSPs (Individualized Family Service Plans) and outcomes
Evaluate speech/language skills, oral motor development, hearing, and auditory processing
Implementation & Service Delivery
Serve as primary service provider and/or service coordinator when appropriate
Deliver speech-language therapy and coaching in natural environments
Integrate interventions into daily routines and parent-child interactions
Document services in compliance with Medicaid, insurance, and CDR standards
Collaborate with medical providers and attend family-requested appointments
Training & Collaboration
Supervise interns and volunteers as assigned
Provide community education and parent training upon request
Participate in team meetings, workshops, and continuing education
Evaluation & Reporting
Meet regularly with supervisor for performance and development
Monitor child progress and adjust services as needed
Maintain data and contribute to regular program reporting
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology and American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA certification) required
Licensed to practice Speech/Language Pathology in Virginia
Valid, unrestricted driver’s license for home visits
Current Infant and Child CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Must meet all background check requirements (criminal, CPS, TB risk assessment, etc
Early Intervention Certification
Experience working with infants and toddlers with disabilities in home or center-based settings
Familiarity with federal/state early intervention regulations
Knowledge of family-centered care using a coaching model
Signing and/or cuing skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/move up to 30 lbs
Mobility to play and work at floor level with young children
Must navigate home and community-based service settings
Compensation & Benefits:
Clinical Fellow Starting Salary: $63,130
CCC-Eligible Starting Salary : $65,130
