Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations on pediatric, adult, and elderly clients through the use of standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
- Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both short-term goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver one-on-one speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication, language proficiency, fluency, voice qualities, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about strategies to facilitate progress beyond clinical appointments.
- Perform speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatients on occasion, ensuring a continuum of care throughout each patient's journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Commit to ongoing professional development by engaging in continuing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a regionally accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferable possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
