About the Role:

The Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting plays a critical role in supporting patients' rehabilitation and recovery by assisting with therapeutic interventions designed to improve their ability to perform daily living activities. This position involves working closely under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, focusing on enhancing physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning. The OTA will engage with patients to motivate and guide them through exercises and activities that promote independence and improve quality of life. Additionally, the role requires meticulous documentation of patient progress and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Ultimately, the OTA contributes significantly to the patients' journey toward regaining autonomy and achieving optimal health outcomes within the SNF environment.

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant , you will:

  • Administers the Occupational Therapy treatment plan as developed by the Occupational Therapist.

  • Applies concepts of infection control/universal precautions in performing patient care.

  • Assure continuity of quality patient care delivered with appropriate documentation.

  • Provide effective communication to patient/family, team members and other health care professionals.

  • Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies.

Requirements

  • Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License

  • Home health or skilled nursing facility experience preferred

  • CPR certification

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Valid Auto Insurance

  • HomeCare HomeBase experience preferred

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, crawl, squat, or kneel for extended periods.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, pull, or push up to 100 lbs..
