Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning all age groups using standardized assessments and observation methodologies.
- Design individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver tailored speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing difficulties.
- Work hand-in-hand with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish a harmonious care approach.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families to facilitate progress beyond clinical visits.
- Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to guarantee seamless continuity of treatment.
- Keep accurate, timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Pursue educational advancements through ongoing training and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) required if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessary within 30 days of employment initiation.
