The Respiratory Care Peds Technology Dependent Case Manager (CM) provides comprehensive clinical support and education to pediatric patients diagnosed with a respiratory condition which requires discharge home with a tracheostomy, mechanical ventilator, or other technology dependency, and their families.
Clinical support includes:
Care plan management
Results reporting to physician
Patient assessment; application of respiratory care modalities
Home downloads of mechanical ventilator usage parameters
Correct fitting and troubleshooting mask interfaces
Documentation of care
DME coordination
This position is grant funded for a duration of 2-years only.

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
Current Valid California Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR.
Credentialed and valid as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Bachelor's Degree in related area and/ or equivalent experience/ training.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Acute Care Hospital.
Knowledge of the clinical and scientific basis and effects of Respiratory Care procedures, equipment and medications.
Ability to collect data and reports for the Joint Commission and the California Department of Public Health.
Skill to work accurately and quickly under pressure.
Understanding of performance improvement techniques.
Knowledge of and adherence to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Communication that is professional in both verbal and written languages to visitors, patients and other health care providers.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, nurses, physicians and other department managers and hospital personnel.
Basic computer skills and the ability to work on the computer for several hours each day.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Case Manager (CCM) obtained through Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC).
Prior experience and demonstrated abilities in: Planning and conducting in-service education and training.
