Description
- Conduct in-depth assessments for pediatric, adult, and elderly populations utilizing standardized testing and keen observation.
- Craft individualized treatment plans that align with immediate goals and long-term needs in communication, cognition, and swallowing.
- Deliver focused, one-on-one speech therapy interventions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing difficulties.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate cohesive care approaches.
- Provide educational resources to patients and families, fostering progress outside of therapy hours.
- Participate in the occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation that aligns with both state and federal standards, as well as organizational policies.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth through education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if ASHA certification is not yet achieved.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
