Position Overview:The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a talented, knowledgeable, and highly innovative certified educator to fill the Districtwide Speech and Language Pathologist position for the 2025-2026 school year. Guided by the Districts Strategic Plan, we strive to prepare all students for success!Successful candidates must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about various interventions and have training and experience with administering and interpreting a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools. In addition to direct student services, the speech-language pathologist is responsible for testing and evaluating students initially referred or for reevaluations of caseload students.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to:Provide consultation to classroom teachers on speech and language strategies, especially as it relates to multilingual learners, that need to be implemented in the classroom. Assist teachers and teacher assistants in developing language-based classroom activities and follow through on their implementation. Assist parents in learning ways to increase language stimulation in the home by providing activities as needed. Plan and organize 1:1, small group, and whole group speech and language therapy for students with speech-language disorders, Autism Spectrum, and social-emotional and complex learning disabilitiesConsult with teachers on the use of assistive technology in their classroom and make adjustments as needed. Fill out referral forms for assistive technology evaluations and attend evaluation meetings. Assess needs in the area of speech, language and hearing and prepare diagnostic reports using unbiased bilingual assessments tools. Present diagnostic reports to the Evaluation Team as well as families. Read and interpret reports from other school districts or other countries. Serve as a member of the team that will develop an Individual Education Program for each of the pupils enrolled who require speech services. Communicate with parents, School Administrators, teachers and other support staff for the coordination of services. Demonstrate ethical behavior and a genuine concern for others under all circumstances; model what is expected of others.Incorporate student's backgrounds in the lesson plan and understands how to linguistically make connections with prior native language development. Identify new approaches and strategies to learning and teaching that are based on well-researched data, student-centered, and always focused on improving performance.Cultivate a stewardship of collaborative learning and leadership in and out of the classroom distributing knowledge and expertise in a skillful way that empowers and supports others.Understand, analyze and evaluate information and make connections among multiple factors, data points, ideas, learning styles, personalities, and potential solutions to make the best decision possible.Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic, social and personal well-being of all students.Such other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Student Services.

REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS:Valid RIDE Educator Certification as a Speech & Language Pathologist,Bilingual Required (Spanish) Prefer experience working with children; Successful school experience as a Speech Pathologist; Knowledge of technologies to enhance communication;Knowledge of research-based practices and interventions to address communication; Proven demonstrative skills in school settings, diagnostic assessments, and comprehensive student evaluations;Ability to perform all of the duties listed in the job posting in accordance with all Central Falls School District policies and practices.
