Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Location: Kerman Unified School District - Kerman, CA Schedule: Part-Time (~16 hours/week) Contract Dates: August 18, 2025 - June 4, 2026 Position Type: Onsite Only Number of Openings: 1 Job Description: Kerman Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our special education team for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part-time, onsite position working approximately 16 hours per week across various school sites within the district. The COTA will support students with diverse needs under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Caseloads will vary depending on district needs and may include elementary, middle, and/or high school students. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs. Collaborate with the supervising Occupational Therapist to implement therapeutic activities and strategies. Document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records. Assist in developing and adapting materials and strategies to support student participation in academic and functional tasks. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student progress discussions when appropriate. Work closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure consistent support across settings. Qualifications: Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Valid California licensure (or eligibility) through the California Board of Occupational Therapy. Previous school-based experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Must be comfortable working in a school-based setting with varying caseloads. Why Join Kerman USD? Pay rate template:

Compensation for this position ranges from $40 to $45 per hour. We pay for direct and indirect services. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
