Position Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments along with observational methodologies.
- Create tailored treatment plans that meet both short-term objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions with a focus on language, communication fluency, voice, and swallowing abilities.
- Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and patient families to design cohesive care strategies.
- Provide education to patients and their families to support their progress outside clinical settings.
- Assist with inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions when necessary, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the treatment experience.
- Maintain consistent, accurate documentation in conjunction with applicable state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and peer collaboration to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field.
Qualifications
- A Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be achieved within 30 days of employment.
