Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups utilizing both standardized assessments and keen observational techniques.
- Craft personalized therapy plans targeting both immediate and long-term communication or swallowing goals.
- Deliver focused one-on-one therapy sessions addressing various aspects of speech, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team, including PTs, OTs, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and loved ones, to ensure a united approach to patient care.
- Provide education and resources to support caregivers and families in reinforcing progress outside of the clinical setting.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and therapy as needed, ensuring consistent patient care throughout their recovery journey.
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with local, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- A completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not ASHA-certified.
Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be achieved within 30 days of hire.
