Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups using both standardized assessments and purposeful observations.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that meet immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs.
  • Deliver one-on-one interventions focusing on essential areas such as language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to design effective care strategies.
  • Provide essential education to patients and families to facilitate progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care.
  • Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through continuing education and peer consultation.

Education

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.

Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.

  • Proficient in evidence-based approaches for treating individuals across ages, with a keen understanding of developmental and acquired communication disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to modify therapy techniques to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
