Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing standardized tests and observational methods.
- Create customized treatment plans tailored to both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
- Facilitate individualized speech therapy sessions targeting communication, language fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
- Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to establish unified care plans.
- Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress beyond clinical visits.
- Participate in the occasional evaluation and intervention for inpatient speech therapy, ensuring a seamless transition in care throughout the treatment timeline.
- Adhere to precise documentation standards in line with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Engage with ongoing professional development and peer networking to stay updated on industry advancements.
Education
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be acquired within 30 days of hire.
