Job Summary

As a school COTA, you will work under the direction of an occupational therapist to offer OT services to students according to the parameters set forth in their individual education plans (IEP). You will be responsible for setting up equipment for OT interventions and regularly cleaning and organizing OT equipment and the classroom. You may also be asked to assist with OT evaluations, document student interventions, and progress, and relay your observations to a supervising OT.

Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, as determined by the school district. You will work to help students overcome physical limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential life skills. Interventions may focus on developing fine and gross motor skills, sensory-motor skills, play and social skills, and /or basic self-care.

We are looking for a versatile C OT A who is willing to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, therapists, and administrators. Our ideal applicant is compassionate, steady under pressure, and capable of meeting the needs of students who require specialized OT support.

Qualifications

Education

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program that the American Occupational Therapy Association approves

Experience

  • Prior COTA experience working in a school setting is preferred but not required.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Current state license as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) within the state of practice

  • Certification (COTA) through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

  • BLS certification

This pay range represents Covelo Group's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting.
