Job Description
An experienced Occupational Therapist is needed to provide comprehensive therapy services within a K-12 school district located in Shakopee, MN. This full-time, contract role supports students across all grade levels, offering direct and consultative services to approximately 60 students district-wide. The opportunity spans the entire school year, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent and impactful environment to apply specialized therapeutic skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized occupational therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust treatment strategies accordingly.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings with a focus on functional performance and educational goals.
- Provide support and training to staff to facilitate the integration of therapy strategies within classroom settings.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license to practice in Minnesota.
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 student populations in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques related to sensory processing, fine motor development, and functional skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 60 students effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with educators and families.
