Category Therapy - Skilled - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school in Dumfries, VA. This contract role, reporting to the Director of Special Education, involves providing speech and language assessment and therapy services to students while consulting with staff to support individualized education plans. Key responsibilities include: Conducting screenings and evaluations for speech, language, articulation, and auditory development. Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team to develop and review IEPs. Providing direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments. Consulting with educators, families, and healthcare providers to monitor student progress. Assisting in designing appropriate language programs within classroom and community environments. The position is part-time, up to 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with in-person attendance required. The role supports elementary-aged students and prefers candidates with prior school experience. Qualifications: Active Virginia SLP license. Commitment to supporting students with special education needs and their families. Experience in speech and language assessment, evaluation, and consultation. Knowledge of special education processes, disability categories, and early learning or atypical impairments. Strong communication skills and ability to foster positive professional relationships.
