Category Therapy - Skilled - SLP Job Type Contract A Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school in King George, VA. This part-time contract role (up to 30 hours per week) offers the opportunity to provide in-person support to young students requiring speech and language services, focusing on individualized assessment and therapy to foster communication development within a school setting. The position reports to the Director of Special Education and emphasizes collaboration with staff, families, and community partners. Key Responsibilities: Conduct screenings, assessments, and evaluations related to speech, language, articulation, and auditory development for students referred for special education services. Provide consultative and advisory support to educators and school personnel regarding the diagnosis and remediation of speech and language impairments. Collaborate as a member of a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and interpret Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Maintain ongoing communication with families, school staff, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress and adapt interventions. Support language program development for both general and special education classrooms. Deliver direct therapy services to students, facilitating their academic and personal growth through enhanced communication skills. Qualifications: Active Virginia Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license. Experience in pediatric SLP, preferably within schools. Familiarity with special education processes, disability categories, and IEP development. Strong assessment, evaluation, and consultation skills. Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, families, and staff. Effective communication skills, including active listening and adaptability. A commitment to fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
