The Physical Therapist Assistant works under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, support functional recovery, and improve patient outcomes. The position requires strong clinical awareness, attention to detail, and a commitment to evidence-based practice in a dynamic environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Implement treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic interventions including exercise programs, functional mobility training, and manual techniques within scope of practice. Assist patients with therapeutic activities to improve strength, balance, coordination, and mobility. Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the supervising Physical Therapist. Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. Educate patients and families on prescribed exercises, safety techniques, and wellness strategies as directed by the Physical Therapist. Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment and ensure proper use of equipment. Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and healthcare team to support coordinated patient care. Ensure compliance with all applicable healthcare regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines. Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of employment. Current CPR/BLS certification. PREFERRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Knowledge of physical therapy procedures and treatment techniques. Strong observation and reporting skills to track patient progress. Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare team members. Ability to follow established treatment plans and adapt within scope under supervision.
